4 new chemical substances to be added to the REACH Regulation Candidate list (201 in total)

On July 16, 2019, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) issued a notice, adding the 21st batch of four substances as substances of high concern, and the SVHC list was officially updated to 201 items. These four substances are carcinogenic, mutagenic and reproductive toxic (CMR), persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), and very persistent and bioaccumulative (vPvB).

Shangdu reminds companies that when products contain SVHC substances, and the content exceeds 0.1%, they will need to notify ECHA or transfer information in the supply chain, as detailed in the interpretation of SVHC high concern substance requirements. Within 6 months from now, if the concentration of a single SVHC in the mass percentage of the article exceeds 0.1%, and the annual export volume is greater than 1 ton, the obligation to notify ECHA must be completed.
