Australia AS 4020:2018 is officially implemented

The Australian Building Code Board (ABCB) drafted a Bill (2018/6.0) in October 2018 stating that AS/NZS 4020:2005 needs to be transitioned to AS/NZS 4020:2018 as soon as possible.

The official effective date of AS/NZS 4020:2018 is no. 2019.5.1. From the effective date, the test report of AS/NZS 4020:2005 version will no longer be accepted, and the corresponding standard changes and certificate issuance matters need to be carried out by various WATERMARK certification agencies according to this event node. The main work arrangements are as follows:

1. All new customers will be tested in accordance with the 2018 version and will no longer conduct any test work for the 2005 version;

2. Customers who have obtained the AS 4020:2005 report or certificate will be required to retest according to the new standard from 2019.5.1;

The AS 4020 test report is valid for 5 years and needs to be retested if the standard is updated.
