Germany KTW-BWGL Drinking Water new regulations and sanitary compliance certification - transitional options



On July 10, 2020, German UBA issued transitional arrangements for KTW-BWGL and drinking water product compliance certification: Due to the impact of COVID-19, factory audit and on-site sampling work cannot be carried out in a short time, so the transitional arrangements are as follows:

 

1. The new KTW-BWGL regulations will still be enforced from March 21, 2021, which is unchanged;

The following guidelines will be withdrawn on March 21, 2021:

• Coating Guidelines6

• Lubricant Guidelines7

The KTW test certificate issued in accordance with the above guidelines will expire on 21 March 2021, and the original W270 test certificate will expire at the same time (from 21 March 2021).

 

Second, regarding the "drinking water product conformity certification", the following methods can be adopted at present:

1. Temporary certificates of health conformity may be provided:

All parts and assemblies that come into contact with water are eligible;
The certificate is valid until 2023.3.21.
For P1 and A/B categories, the initial factory audit and site sampling must be completed by March 21, 2023.3.After which the provisional certificate will be converted to a formal certificate.

2. Provide a formal certificate of health compliance: the steps required for certification must be fully followed

All parts and assemblies in contact with water can be applied, including rubber, silicone, TPE and other parts;
Our company can provide P1 and A/B parts of the formal health compliance certificate application, there are domestic auditors can audit and sampling work, as long as the sampling test and factory audit results meet the requirements, our company can apply for a formal certificate of compliance for customers;
For customers who meet the requirements of P2-P4 and B-D components, we directly apply for a formal certificate of conformity;
Certificate validity: 5 years;
