CE Wireless new directive update

As of June 13, 2016, the original R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC will be repealed, and products that have been evaluated under the old Directive can continue to be sold until June 13, 2017. After June 13, 2017, only wireless devices assessed in accordance with the new RED 2014/53/EU will be allowed to be sold on the EU market.

German KTW certification FAQ

According to our long-term KTW factory coaching experience, many companies do not know what kind of test KTW is at present. Many customers ask us what process is there for showers, taps, hoses to do KTW, or some customers will ask us how to do metal pipe fitting KTW? Through my explanation above, it should be pointed out that in Germany, KTW certification is a non-metallic material (note: Here refers to the material, not the assembled product) test report, the main test is the migration test of non-metallic materials in water, if your customer requires your entire product to pass KTW, then you only need to ensure that all non-metallic parts that touch the water pass KTW, then you will ask me what about metal? In the latest 4MS of the European Union, specific provisions are made on metal materials. According to the long-term experimental results of DIN 50930, a positive list has been given in 4MS. You can choose the metal materials that have been proved to be in line with the impact of drinking water quality.

Eu REACH regulation adds 4 SVHCS (173 in total)

On December 19, 2016, the European Commission (MSC) unanimously approved the SVHC review substances bisphenol A (BPA), perfluoro-capric acid (PFDA) and its sodium and ammonium salts, branched and straight chain 4-heptyl phenol (4-HPbl), 4-tert-amylphenol (PTAP) four substances identified as SVHC candidates. REACH will add these four substances to the list of SVHC candidate substances in January 2017, becoming the 16th batch of SVHC candidate substances.

German KTV latest standards released

The Australian/New Zealand Standards AS 1172.1-2005 and AS 1172.2-2005 for Ceramic sanitary ware products have been updated to the 2014 edition

AS 1172.1-2014 This standard replaces AS 1172.1-2005, Water closets, Part 1: Pans, which are revised from 2005 as follows: 1. Identify flushing devices outside the water tank; 2. Improved test tolerances, instruments and procedures; 3.Amend procedures to meet the requirements of the Water Efficiency Labelling Standards (WELS) scheme to make test results more consistent in test laboratories.
