UPC/CUPC certification is a very authoritative certification for bathroom and building materials products in the United States and Canada. UPC stands for Uniform Plumbing Code, and the prefix "C" indicates compliance with Canadian standards. This certification is issued by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), which is a non-profit organization headquartered in California, USA.

What is the difference between UPC and CUPC certification?
UPC is the certification for bathroom plumbing products in the United States, and obtaining this certification allows sales in the U.S. market.
Adding "C" in front of UPC makes it CUPC, indicating that the product is also recognized in Canada, so products with CUPC certification can be sold in both the U.S. and Canada.
Please choose the appropriate certification based on your product's market positioning. Compared to UPC, CUPC has an additional product evaluation fee, but no other fees have increased.
How long is the validity period of UPC/CUPC certificates?
The certificate is valid for one year, and an annual fee is required. Factory audits and sampling tests are needed every year. Depending on the type of product, IAPMO will conduct one or more inspections of the manufacturing factory and inventory warehouse. Most products, such as artificial stone basins and shower rooms, are inspected once a year; for faucets and braided hoses, inspections are conducted twice a year.
